Buying used? Quick answer needed :- /

Hey all so ive been in the market for awhile and have about a 700$ budget give or take. I was looking at ebay when i found:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300282150810
This looks nice and all, but is it a good deal or even a good idea to buy used? Any help is greatly appreciated :-p

I suppose I could be charitable and say it would be an ok midrange gaming machine. An awful lot of hype and pure bs on that page.

Like anything else, it depends on what's in it. For that you need to know at least a bit about components.

A couple points to show what I mean.

"Intel 3.4Ghz Dual Core processor which runs at 6.8Ghz"
- That's a Pentium D 945. In the first place, you don't just add the speed of 2 cores, sure looks impressive, but that's not how it works. Old technology presented as if it's the latest.

"This computer can play any game out on the market today and any game that comes out in the next five-ten years."
- Think so? Wanna buy some swamp, I mean, prime real estate adjacent to a natural body of water?

"It's Lean, It's Mean, And It's definately Green"
- Well, one outta 3 ain't bad. There is green there.

And the whole thing is more of the same. The ebay equivalent of an infomercial.

I would be very careful about buying anything used. Ask, anyone will be happy to tell you what you need to know.
