Gaming Build help.

Hey guys,

First off im from England. I have just finalized a few parts im getting for my gaming build and wanted you guys to check it over for me.

I am going to get this mobo = http://www.ebuyer.com/product/140820

And i have this CPU already = http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819103747

I was wondering whether those 2 would work together or not? This is my first build so i want to be very sure that it will all work.

Sorry about the lack of detail i was in a rush to write this. If you need any more details just post and ill do my best to write a response.

Re: Gaming Build help.

I think the x2 4200 is border line on running the 8800 card it just may be waiting on data from the cpu.
What resolutions do you game at?
You should also consider upgrading the 500w psu even the GT version will have been pushing it pretty hard.

Re: Gaming Build help.

At lower resolutions like 1280x800 the cpu carries the load not the gpu the gpu gets loaded closer to 1900x1080, If you can swing it think about bumping the cpu up to a X2 6000.

Yeh as soon as i get the money im upgrading my PSU. The aim of this upgrade is to make sure my new mobo will take upgrades and last me a decent amount of time.

Re: Gaming Build help.

Well the AM3 socket will be out soon so don't count on the AM2 being around too much longer it's really old for AMD.
There are boards claiming support for AM3 but I think that is going to turn into the same deal as the AM2+ where the AM2 socket will run the cpu but the board doesn't support the full HT speed of the AM2+ cpu

Re: Gaming Build help.

Yes that's true you will need to do a repair install, if you have a OEM version of windows then the license is tied to the previous motherboard and will need a new license for the new board, retail versions are however transferable > http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XP...install.htm#RI
