[SOLVED] Please review my build.
Hi, first of all, everything will be in CAD and I will be buying from Newegg.ca. Second, here are the stuff I already have.
* 500GB HD * Mouse and keyboard * Monitor * OS * Case * DVD Burner Third, I will be using this for the latest games. Now, here is the list of what I plan to buy. Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail 229.49 CAD http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16819115036 SAPPHIRE 100259L Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail 244.09 CAD http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814102810 G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail 67.29 CAD http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16820231166 GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail 139.39 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813128359 COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro RS-650-ACAA-A1 650W ATX Form Factor 12V V2.3 / SSI Standard EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Retail 97.79 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817171023 Total 778.05 CAD Total with taxes and shipping 898.13 CAD I chose the E8500 because of its high performance with games, the HD 4870 because Toms' Hardware recommended it for its price range, the Cool Master because it is one of the recommended PSU on this forum at the lowest price, the motherboard because it was the most popular mobo that is simple without SLI or CF and is not too expensive, and the RAM because I wanted highest RAM speed and that one was popular and not too expensive. Please comment. |

Re: Please review my build.
There's a really good deal on one of the PC Power and Cooling 750's, for the HD 4870 it would be a lot better. Not sure if I'd want to run that card on a 650, even though the Real Power Pro is a very nice psu.

Re: Please review my build.
Alright then, I'm replacing the Coolmaster PSU by the Real Power Pro one.
P.S. Why doesn't Newegg sell consoles? I'm looking to buy a Wii Last edited by gabrezu; 12-23-2008 at 02:32 PM. |

Re: Please review my build.
Good luck on that, guy I know went and lined up outside futureshop the other week. They were getting a shipment in, supposed to be 50 or something like that and turned out to be only 11. He lucked in, one of very few that I've heard of actually being able to get one.
