Building 2 Identical Servers. Need Them Mirrored
To start, I hope this is in the right forum. I couldn't find another place that I thought would be better.
I'm building 2 servers, they are both exactly the same parts, as far as hardware goes, they are exact copies of each other. I'll be installing http://www.freenas.org/ on them, from the same disk, so the OS will be exactly the same also. My question; I want to do all the work on one server, while the other server mirrors everything that happens on the first server. I want to do this in case of hardware failure on the first server, the second can take over. They will also be on independent UPS' and into the power grid and a generator for power loss. Now how would I go about making the second server mirror the first. Would RSYNC work? Or is there some other fancy hardware device I could use. Thanks for reading, hopefully you can understand what I want to do. |
