Wireless adapter
I figure the building crowd would be in touch most with the best products/prices so I figured what are your opinions on the best wireless network adapter that I should buy for my desktop PC?
I have a netgear WG111 adapter already, and just bought a Linksys WRT110 router- and also have an existing 2wire modem/wireless router. My connection is probably 15 feet away and 1 floor below the routers in the basement. My signal is more often than not, slow. It also has problems often with dropped connections, and connecting in the first place. I basically just have to keep identifying/repairing over and over again until it gives me the option to renew my IP adress and that only works half the time. The other half of the time I can connect, but it is slow. I suffer serious lag when playing world of warcraft. My girlfriend, who owns a macbook, sits a foot from me and has absolutely no problems or lag even when we both play world of warcraft. So, I am basically under the assumption that my adapter is just garbage so I would like to buy a new one- what are suggestions for a good wireless receiver/adapter. I dont care if it is PCI or USB. I would also like to keep it under $100 Last edited by BCCOMP; 12-21-2008 at 08:44 PM. Reason: Language |
