My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Hi everyone. :)
This is my first build, as you know, and I need some help to revise my build list to make better. So let's start off. If you find something that's cheaper and better or just better, please please please, let me see it. And I think I'm missing something.... :P And also, please $600-$830. _____________________________________________________________ SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model SH-S223Q APEVIA X-Plorer ATXB8KLW-BK WD6400AAKS GIGABYTE GA-M61PME-S2 EVGA 512-P3-N860-TR GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-730SS Arctic Silver 5 G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6GHz Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm Thank you!

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Was about to say that :P
It's mainly for gaming. And also, should I upgrade that CPU to AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+? |

Ok, I changed the cpu to AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ because it's cheaper and it looks better. Any comments?

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Can someone recommend me a motherboard? I'm bad on choosing those. And if the RAM isn't DDR2 800 on the motherboard, can you recommend my new RAM?
I have also decided to change my PSU to COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro RS-750-ACAA-A1 750W. Last edited by Slash129; 11-25-2008 at 07:17 PM. |

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Will that RAM "fit"? Because the RAM you gave me was DDR2 667 and the mobo you gave me was DDR2 1200/1066. Is it that it doesn't have to "fit" both the mobo and RAM and it'll still work?
Also, I would just want 2GB of RAM please because that's a little cheaper and I don't really need 4GB right now. Last edited by Slash129; 11-25-2008 at 09:54 PM. |

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Wow 9.99 AR..that's cheap! well, do you guys think that the stock E7200 hsf will work or do you think that I need a new one? Please not above $30.
Do you guys think that I should get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134 ? Ok, I have decided to change my case to a COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel because it looks cool and 5 eggs with over 2000 reviews. That's pretty cool. Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Should I get this PSU? It's 700W and it looks pretty good to me. The only con I can read about it on the reviews is that it's kind of difficult to install...

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Raidmax = low quality I would not
It's hard to beat the price on this one you selected earlier> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817171024 What video card are you looking to get? If you are not looking to overclock the stock cooler is fine if you are going to OC then http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118019 Either case will work fine which ever appeals to you. |

GPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130360 And the Zalman's pretty expensive... I'm just planing to overclock it to maybe 3.5 or close to that. Is there one that's a bit cheaper? |

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
If you are planning on staying with the 9600GT this PSU will work fine> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817171023
Use this one but you'll have to monitor the temps close and back it down if it starts to run warm> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134 |

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
Ok, I've decided to get CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W because I think it's better personally and it's jsut a few bucks more. Are there any cons with that PSU?
And also, I'm not going to stay with 9600GT forever, I might upgrade it in a year or so to a better GPU. :) And for the same reason, I'm getting the Zalman. Last edited by Slash129; 11-26-2008 at 06:50 PM. |

Re: My first build :) Need some people to help me make better
I would get a better GPU to start off with personally, the Nvidia 9 series is not brilliant. I would reccomend an ATI HD4850 or 4870
