First Time PC Builder
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums here and was looking for some advice in building a gaming computer. Mostly playing WoW as of right now and this is what i have set up as of now.
Graphics Card: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0291847 Processor: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0286810 Case: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0288150 Motherboard: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0278565 Memory: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0290873 OS: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0294709 Hard Drive: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0235781 Power Supply: http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0290512 Was checking to see if everything was compatible and am always open for suggestions. I would prefer for the items to come from the same website as i live close to one of the stores but if not, thats fine too. Thanks in advance for all the help. |

Re: First Time PC Builder
Looks fine to me. ATX form factor MB....ATX compatible case. (I'd go with the Antec 900 though just b/c that one is already huge enough. The next one up that you listed is just massive). PSU should be able to handle almost anything. Processor is compatible with socket (AM2+). Memory is compatible with the board. Vid card uses PCI-E, which is what the board has. Only thing I couldn't tell was whether or not the board supports GDDR3. I imagine it would but I'd check on that if I were you.

Re: First Time PC Builder
Are you sure you want an AMD build Intel is the fastest for gaming at the moment E8500 is hard to beat for the price > http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/d...x1050,820.html
And you don't want a CoolMax cpu this is twice the Psu as that> http://microcenter.com/single_produc...uct_id=0273362 Are you looking for a SLI build or a simgle video card? |

Re: First Time PC Builder
Yeah I'm pretty sure I wanna go with AMD because a friends dad owns a computer store that features it and I think that'll be cheaper for me. Though if i could build a faster system going with Intel for a similar retail price I'm willing to listen.
I was going to go with a single video card because I'm on a budget of about $1000-1200. Thanks for that power supply suggestion, I didn't know anything at all about them when i started. |

Re: First Time PC Builder
Off brand PSU's are notoriously unreliable. The numbers don't tell you everything. Sometimes it's of benefit to go to newegg.com, look up the same thing, and then read the user reviews.
