building a computer for video transfers help!!

I'm building a computer that is going to be used in a church main sanctuary.

Primary use will be power point

Playing video and music unto projector (second monitor)

and capturing video from a dvr player. (We use it to capture through a firewire. )

Uploading and exchanging files through a network server

First of all. - Which hard drive would you recommend? considering to capture without problem i need a fairly fast one.

Also is firewire a reliable connection to transfer videos? or should i get something from haupaug that lets me capture with composite videos/audio?

Re: building a computer for video transfers help!!

I would suggest getting a fairly large hard drive unless you plan on just imediately burning the video to DVDs. You can find some good deals on some huge hard drives at TigerDirect.com.

Second, firewire is a pretty reliable connection for video capture. But, you would get better quality from using connections such a RGB or composite.
