your gfx card is plenty capable ......... your power supply is a weak meanufacturer that would scare me to run

your CPU is your weakness

Re: Need Help for Christmas

a good choice on PSU would be

Coolermaster Real Power Pro 750 watt
OCZ 700 watt
Corsair 750-TX

you could get by with 650 watts in these units ..... but next year you may want to indulge with some overclocking ....... :) then you will be happy to have the 750 watt models

Re: Need Help for Christmas

I will buy a Phenom. Im not satisfied with my graphics card much as i get low FPS a lot of the time or slow downs in games but this might be due to my CPU and Power supply. I am defiantly buying a new one at Christmas. Also i will buy another processor but should i buy another graphics card? I play Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty 5 i can Call of Duty 4 with 1024x768 and Extra Textures but i have to turn shadows and all the other settings off or i get 50-60 FPS and same with Call of Duty 5 but i get about 40-50 on there.

Re: Need Help for Christmas

OK I would get the fastest cpu you can for your budget ...... anything up to and beyond the 6400 X2 would then get full use of your current video card

its not your video card that delivering poor performance !! that card is more than capable of rocking and rolling ...................... your PSU could well be starving your video card and I will guarantee your 5000 cpu is a bottleneck for you!

your video card is no slacker .........

Re: Need Help for Christmas

Nope, 8800GT 512MB to the 9800GT isn't an upgrade, they are basically the same card.
