Re: Upgrading My SONY VAIO plz help!!!

The E8500 will not work on a 915 chipset motherboard you are limited to P4's by the board, probably even to which P4's will work by the Sony Bios.

You don't want a RaidMax Psu terrible unit

Look at something like this> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817171023

Or one of these Models/Brands>
Seasonic - any model
Corsair - any model
Thermaltake - "Toughpower" series only
Coolermaster - "Real Power Pro" series only
PC Power & Cooling - any model
Silverstone - any model

The 9600GSO is a good card and will work with the monitor.
I always recommend that you actually view the exact model of a monitor at a brick and mortar store before buying online to ensure you like the image quality.

Re: Upgrading My SONY VAIO plz help!!!

With an OEM motherboard your limited to what Sony wrote the Bios for Oem's rarely if ever update the cpu microcode in the Bios (there is no monetary incentive for them to do so) An Email to Sony Tech Support may get you a list but I would bet it stops at a 3.4 or 3.6 P4 which probably isn't worth the upgrade cost to buy an out of production new cpu.
For a 500Gb Hard drive

I'm not sure how your case is set up for fans, I like 1 in the front sucking in and 1 in the rear blowing out. 80 to 120mm with a speed controller to slow them down and reduce noise when they aren't needed.
