Grin :: Want Expert's Suggestion ::

My Friends wants to ask some questions :-----

From PCI to PCI-E? + videocard questions

Lets me see if I got this straight. This is what I need:
1. An AMD processor
2. Motherboard with a PCI-E and AM2 socket
3. RAM (DDR2)
4. GPU
5. PSU
6. Video card (PCI-E)
Do tell me if I got something wrong, cuz I am sure I did. What brands should I look for when I buy these parts and what is the most crucial qualities that I need? I take it I can't just put any processor on any mobo and such.
I'm sorry if I am a burden, I just want my computer to work better. My graduation is next year and I need to get some serious video-editing-skills if I want good grades, though the computer I have now seems to be like a amish person driving a car anytime I start the necessary programs. Help is greatly appreciated!

Re: :: Want Expert's Suggestion ::

Are you looking for video editing only or video editing and gaming?
Which Video editing program do you intend to use?
What is your budget for this?
Do you definitely want AMD or is it a budget decision?

1. An AMD processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103210

3. RAM (DDR2) http://shop2.frys.com/product/5672021

4. GPU Would not need one with this board, but you could put one in later for games

5. PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?SID=859687-2-0-ARTICLE-0&Item=N82E16817341017&nm_mc=AFC-DealNews&cm_mmc=AFC-DealNews-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA

6. Video card (PCI-E) as above for GPU

You might want to buy 4 Gig of Memory, although a 32 bit O/S can only use 3.2 of it . .
