No New Just Old??
Sorry to be such a new guy and all, but I'm trying to kinda combine parts from two different computers to get the best possible and am just looking for like some kind of miracle compatibility resource?
Longer story here: Okay. I have an emachines w1800 amd xp 1800 with a gig of ram. Nothing else on this machine is of importance besides the 128mb graphics card and the wireless pci card that I installed. My second tower is a dell dimension 5100 with a pentium 4 at 4ghz? Am I making sense? This tower is BSOD'n me to the face and hard. Essentially I would just want to build everything around the pentium 4. Right? I'm worried about the BSOD though. Where is a good place to start? |

Re: No New Just Old??
Well the Dell has the better specs the eMachines uses DDR ram the Dell DDR2 and again the Dell has a PCIEx16 video slot the eMachines a AGP so there isn't much other then Maybe drives you can move between them but the Dell is going to want a Sata hard drive.
I would say trouble shoot and fix the Dell after you get it stable find a cost effective video card for it. When it BOSD's what error message are you getting? You may want to post the error message in the XP support threads and go from there> http://www.techsupportforum.com/micr...ws-xp-support/ |
