having a go at building a comp
i am gonna have a go at building my own computer.
i have a case (good cooling I've heard) but...nothing else my current computer is quite outdated (had this comp for a few years) 2.8ghz CPU, 512mb RAM, 64mb ATI Radeon 7000 (runs games at 10-30 Fps) so as you can understand i would like a new one. not looking for anything special or really brilliant, just a computer with better specs than my old one. case that i have: Antec Nine Hundred/Ultimate Gamer Case no PSU basically i need everything else that you would need to build a comp, i need someone to recommend what i should get at a good value for money, so not too expensive i like games, so anything that goes with that tell me |

Re: having a go at building a comp
That's a great list! I have one thought, though.
That MB is a P35. The ATI 4850's are running on Dab's anywhere from 118 to 150. The 4850 beats the 8800GT by a noticeable margin. Why not go with the Radeon? Don't know much about that case, is that the problem? Also, if you need to shave a couple bucks for peripherals, drop down to the e7200 and overclock to 3GHz if the need arises. That's a drop in price of roughly 55 pounds and those Core 2 Duos overclock really nicely. You lose half your L2 cache though doing it that way. Not sure if that would affect you or not. Pauldo |

Re: having a go at building a comp
The HD4850 is an excellent choice also I tend, to go with EVGA/Nvidia because of the warranty I believe it's 10 years in the UK Lifetime in the states while ATI are 1 year here
not sure of the UK, also the manufacturer of that 113.00 card is the pits at support and the rest are higher priced. |

Re: having a go at building a comp
If you can spend more the PowerColor or HIS HD4850 are very good cards depends on what type of warranty you want and at what price you wish to pay also the 9800TX+ is a better Nvidia card then the 8800 all depends on the old wallet!
