Budget gaming pc help!
Ok so; i want to build a gaming PC.
I already have all the non computer parts such as a screen, keyboard, speakers etc - i really just need some help with the actual box. i wanna spend around 500 bucks.. but i've read so many conflicting reports of which parts are better and stuff and urgh it's so confusing... so i wanna sort out a list of parts and specifications before i talk to any retailers. was thinking of going down the AMD route for my CPU but im not sure which ones are compatible with other parts i'd buy and stuff.. in fact compatibility is my main concern; im certainly no tech head >_< anyway any help would be greatly GREATLY appreciated, also some good websites or retailers (i live in melbourne australia) to purchase parts from would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Re: Budget gaming pc help!
What kind of games do you want to play?
wrench97 is right if you want to play the latest and greatest. When I first found this forum (awesome forum by the way) I replied to a post about building a 'New' pc. The guy just wanted to play Command and Conquer 3 and I had some time to kill so I came up with a parts list. Here's the link to the thread: Building a "New" PC This is an AMD machine and it will depend on what games you want to play as to whether this will be a good fit. In fact the prices are probably a bit lower, now. Also, I had not read the e xcellent PSU thread Posted Here when I did this so choosing one of those PSU's would be better. I know you live in Australia and Newegg is not an option but this might give you an idea for parts. Also with the prices the way they are in the States you might be able to fit in an Asus P5K Pro motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 (2.53Ghz) Hope this helps Pauldo |
