Building first computer help please

Okay so as i said im building a new computer, i know a little about computers but i dont know enough to make the decision on what to get so that is why im posting here. I dont really have a budget but i dont want to go over $5000. There is no specific brand that a want for any part. This computer will be for is Gaming and the internet and thats it. I have about 10 games and they are all new and i plan on getting more. I would like it to have windows xp. I need everything. Mouse, keyboard, case, monitor, everything. I live in he US and i would like to purchase everything from newegg. The monitor i would like to be widescreen and about 21 inches. The case i would like to be black and blue but if that is not possible just black is fine. I also would like a good headset. I want it to run good and fast. I think thats all the info you need but if you need more feel free to message me. Thanks much

Re: Building first computer help please

With a budget like that you have alot of options, and opinions will
vary from person to person.
I always stick with intel. The last build I did we used a Asus
p5E64 WS Evolution motherboard, pricey, yes, ddr3 yes, but a very
sweet board, worked like a charm. Very overclockable, actually more
options in bios than you know what to do with. Not my machine, would
probably take a month to figure out everything you can do in bios.
Used a q9650intel cpu, not the extreme. Runs very stable at 3.2ghz
1600mhz fsb, dual mode, using gskill ram. Could run it higher, but settled
on 3.2ghz. Used a nvidia 9800gx2 video card. 2 500gb wd harddrives,
nothing special about them. Thermaltake armor case, the big one,
nice case, cant remember the number. Biggest case Ive ever seen.
But with the heat produced you really want a roomy case.
Cant remember the psu, but it was like 980watt. He got like a 22"
monitor, 7.1 surround speakers headset, and all was under $3500.00
