New Computer

Hi
I would like to buy/build a new computer but i don't know what things i buy to have in the computer. So my question is what should i have in my computer. I want my computer to be able to play games like Bioshock and Crysis on a high level of graphics without lagging. Basically I want the best gaming computer for the money i have which is 1200-1500 dollar.

Thanks for your answers!

Re: New Computer

Okay, here's what parts you'll need to buy:

Motherboard
Processor
Memory
Power Supply
Graphics Card
CD/DVD Drive
Case
Cooling

If you want the best bang for buck, you'd definately want to build it. Here's what parts I would recommend for your demands...

Motherboard: Asus P5Q PRO P45
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
Memory: Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz
Power Supply: Corsair 650W TX
Graphics Card: Radeon HD 4870 512MB
CD/DVD Drive: Anything will do really, but make sure it has a SATA cable instead of an IDE one (it will say in the name either SATA or IDE, stay away from IDE).
Case: Antec Nine Hundred
Cooling: Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Processor Cooler

I'm not sure how many dollars it is, but it all comes to £650. Which is quite cheap for such a high performing system. I think it's around $900? At least you're saving money which can be better spent in the future (:

If you're looking for a new monitor, just browse around and find which suits you best really... Same with the mouse, keyboard etc...

Re: New Computer

Start with this, the case choice is a matter of personal taste/style so look around for what you like, you need to add a Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor to this and maybe a sound card and speakers.
