Building my computer

Hello. Was wondering if anyone could tell me if all the bits I am planning on buying to build a computer would work together and what type of power supply and CPU cooler to get?

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Micro-ATX (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB)

GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB6400C5DC)

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (ST3500320AS)

Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7200S 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Lian Li PC-V350B Aluminium Black Cube Case No PSU

is there anything else i would need?

Tom

Re: Building my computer

Are you going to be using the Onboard video or add a card later?
What will your primary use be?
You will need to add a operating system.
Card Reader?

Re: Building my computer

um i don't think you listed a PSU. The wattage you need can only be determined once you answer the questions above.

Re: Building my computer

Mainly for watching films, university work, music, a bit of picture editing, etc. I dont tend to play games. I have a copy of windows xp i can use which is handy. Is the onboard video card good enough for this? dont need a card reader. will need a wireless pci card though.

Re: Building my computer

This PSU will give you a little room should you decide to get a modest HDMI Video card in the future while being quiet and lasting a long time. > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139003

For a wireless adapter I've used this one a couple of times it's not bad if you have a good signal >http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16839121008

Re: Building my computer

If you are buying the boxed CPU it comes with a stock heat sink fan assembly I think for what you'll be using it for it will be more than enough, if your buying an OEM model then the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134

Re: Building my computer

Just a Note:

Windows XP will not fully register the 4 GB of Memory.
You'll be able to use 3.2 GB or so.
(unless you install the 64-bit version of XP)

Vista SP1 (32-bit) does use the full 4 GB.

Cheers!

Re: Building my computer

If your motherboard and/or case come with Sata Data cables no, you will need 1 for cd/dvd drive and 1 for the hard drive.

Not quite
Vista 32 bit and XP 32 bit will both see and use 4 gig they will only show 3.1-3.3 but can address the upper areas for system devices such as video.
