If your looking at Vista (64 bit) I would defintely go for 4 GB Memory don't care what anyone says it hogs to much memory if you want to game or even slightly multi task.

I just bought that fan it's nice, not sure about how it goes with your computer at all but I just wanted to say I like it lol.

Re: Gamer PC, First Timer Here..

Depending on what other programs you're using, you may want to think about NVidia rather than Radeon. I've seen a lot more issues with Radeon compatibility with a few games, while NVidia is fully supported.

This only applies to some games, and some GPUs, so I'm not saying go with NVidia or anything, but just check around and see if there are any big issues with either brand and judge from there.

(I'm sure there are also games with problems with NVidia more, but generally I see more Radeon problems.)

Re: Gamer PC, First Timer Here..

If you don't plan on using a Raid array use the DS3L board it's cheaper.
The 4870 has good reviews but can also have heat issues.
