Building a computer, need advice

OK, so this is what I've put together so far

CPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115052

Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128078

RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231098

Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811166004

CD Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106263

PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182016

Hard drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148140

Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130338

OS
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116400

Monitor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824116078

The grand total is about $680 after I sell my old computer for $450. The price to me is a little steep so I also am considering this video card:

Over all though I think I did a good job and will have a solid rig.

If you are going to get the cheaper video card than get an HD4850 instead.

That Rosewill Psu won't power any of those video cards listed with stability.

Re: Building a computer, need advice

Thanks for the replies. I have decided to swap PSUs with this one here.

PSU

As for video cards, I will either go for a 9800GTX2 or HD4850 depending on how much money I decide I am willing to spend

Re: Building a computer, need advice

One comment about the power supply. You are going in the right direction, the OCZ is a good power supply. However, I still think you need at least a 650 watt in there for the cards you are looking at. If you look around, some times you can find the 700 watt OCZ for nearly the same price as the 600. Better yet, check the Corsair prices on Newegg...they have been very good recently (although I have not checked for a few days) and a 650 watt or larger supply from Corsair would be great for you to have with those specs.

Re: Building a computer, need advice

Also, I'm pretty sure that the HD4870 is better than the GeForce 9800 GX2, despite the fact that the GX2 has more memory. Maybe someone else can confirm

Yes, it is. I was under the impression it was a GTX2, which I'm not even sure exists lol. So here are the final two changes I made

Video Card

Re: Building a computer, need advice

Hey, if you have not ordered yet, there is a power supply that is much cheaper and much better quality. The one I have listed is top-of-the-line quality. Don't misunderstand, the OCZ is a great supply, but not in the same class as the Corsair 750, which is only $99 after mail in rebate. That power supply for that money is a steal:

BTW, great choice also on the video card IMHO.
