"No Signal" Message from Monitor
I've recently built a PC, but when I turn it on the monitor stays black. If I restart the monitor it gives me a "No Signal" message. I've tried plugging the monitor into another PC and it works fine. At first I assumed the video card shorted out, so I had the it returned for a new one. The same issue still occurs. The computer seems to work; the fans turn on, there are lights inside the case, the CD drive works, etc.
What is strangest to me is the fact that when I first turned on the PC after I had finished building it the monitor displayed the BIOS screen like normal, however the new keyboard wasn't functioning properly. I'm assuming it was because it needed to be connected via USB slot, and the computer hadn't been configured to read those yet. I turned off the computer and tried switching keyboards to an older model I had that could be connected into the keyboard slot in the back. My Specs: Motherboard MSI P7N SLI PALTINUM 775 750ISLI CPU INTEL|C2D E8400 3G 775 45N R Hard Drive 640G|WD 7K 16M WD6400AAKS Memory 2Gx2|GSK F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ R Video Card SAPPHIRE 100242L HD4850 512M RT Case XCLIO|A380BK RT Monitor ACER|LCD 22" 5MS DVI AL2216WBD What am I doing wrong? Any help at all would be appreciated.

Re: "No Signal" Message from Monitor
Try resetting the CMOS and restarting
Do you know if the E8400 is a CO stepping or a EO stepping, If not do you have the part number off the box like BX80570E8400 Also not relative to this issue you may have problems with drivers on a Nvidia chipset board and an ATI video card after you get windows installed. What Power Supply do you have? |
