Re: Is this a good deal for a quad core?
What is your intentions with this computer cause i just recently had a small company that builds computers on the side build me a computer where their suppliers was newegg.com and they let me choose my parts...total was 1600... I know thats alot but if you price each part it comes out to over 2100 ...+ im getting a keyboard mouse and Call of Duty 4 for free.
Case- Antec900 Processor- intel q9450 2.66 PSU- Corsair 750w Motherboard- EVGA 780i Memory- Corsair 4gb 2x2 Cooling/Heatsink- Zalman 9500a Videocard- EVGA Gtx280 Hard Drive- Seagate Barracuda 500gb Burner- Samsung Lightscribe DVD Burner Monitor- Samsung 22" 2253BW Wireless- Linksys PCI Wireless Card OS- Vista Premium 64 Bit Anyways I guess Im saying you could probably do better especially if thats your current computer specs in your sig area. I mean why upgrade from a 6600 to a 6800...if your on a budget I say save up. If you know how to build your own pc its alot cheaper. Check out newegg.com Last edited by jumbo1990ny; 08-17-2008 at 03:10 PM. |

That graphics card is nothing to write home about. That's not ANY upgrade from what you have. If you're just trying to get a "deal" then sure and resell it. If you're looking for an upgrade, don't go near that thing.

Re: Is this a good deal for a quad core?
I'm debating between a laptop or a desktop, if i do get a laptop, just to be sure, should i get a turion RM-70 or a Intel T5750? Which one is better for gaming? (If all the other specs are the same)

Re: Is this a good deal for a quad core?
the T7200 was my choice for gaming, never got any noticeable lag.
look at the fujitsu siemens amilo pi 1536 2gb one...thats a nice laptop! further more you could always just build your own..say quad core and 2gb ram and mobo bundle here is £99, making it $200 you could find some cheap deals on ebay :) |

Re: Is this a good deal for a quad core?
when gaming, always go intel. it's so much better by many aspects. even though it's more expensive. thats WHY its more expensive.
if you replaced the card with a 3870, the bottleneck in the desktop would be the processor at only 2.2ghz. i'd still say keep looking. Last edited by Toucan Sam; 08-18-2008 at 08:19 AM. |
