Wierd problem with new build

I just finished putting together my new system, and i cant seem to get it started. When its on its side.. sometimes i can turn it on and it stays on and goes to the bios, sometimes. Other times it just turns on off on off on off repeatedly. If i stand it vertical, it automatically turns intself on if the power supply is on, and 3 seconds later turns itself off and stays off. Any ideas? ; ;

Asus p5q deluxe mobo, 2 4870 crossfire, intel E8500 with a thermalright 120 extreme. The 120 extreme is kinda loose on my motherboard.. not loose to the point it moves around on its own, but i can shift it if i want.. its as tight as i feel i can get it before damaging my mobo. I read in another post that its supposed to be like this but im not sure.
