750W will run that fine, as long as its from a reputable brand

yeah it will run fine but definitely aim for a PSU from a reputable manufacturer...it is money well spent.

Re: Should I use 750psu or more?

I also vote the 750 will do it, if you get a major brand like this:

Seasonic – Any Model
Corsair – Any Model
PC Power & Cooling – Any Model
Thermaltake – “Toughpower” Series Only
Coolermaster – “Real Power Pro” Series Only
Silverstone – Any Model

The converse of that assumption is that if you get a no name power supply, it certainly will not do the job for you.

Hi, that's a good PSU.
May I also suggest that you look for nVidia SLI Certified PSU's and visit the forums of SLI gamers to check if your chosen selection has positive/negative opinion.
You'll find plenty of SLI info & links here.....

Re: Should I use 750psu or more?

GO TO www.extremeoutervision.com and get their power supply calculator. It does not cost very much for a lifetime subscription. Then just put in your specs and see what it tells you you need.

One thing the others said good was to buy a good name brand and DON'T SKIMP ON THE PSU. It IS the most failure prone component in any system, and when it goes it usually takes prisoners with it... It IS worth the money.

Re: Should I use 750psu or more?

The Corsair 750 is not a good power supply, but a GREAT power supply and should do what you want without difficulty. That baby packs a punch. Don't think you will find any better than Seasonic, Corsair, and PC Power & Cooling power supplies.

Re: Should I use 750psu or more?

Hi, Lildragon
Was just lookin at your proposed build again and a few things came to mind.

You mention a "A Processor Fan"........... if not intending to use the stock Intel HeatSink&Fan, please get yourself one that is compatible with the Q6600 CPU. Not all socket 775 HSF's are the same.

Also plan the Cooling of your system with care and use quality 12cm fans.
Lastly, try to use RAM from the EVGA Qualified Vendors List for your board.
