Suggestions on Mobo / ram

Well recently i started playing a new game nd noticed im only getting about 30-40 fps during game play. I was talking to some of the other players and they seem to be doing much better than I.

First off im looking for suggestions on mobo's for crossfiring 2 ati radeoon hd 4850's. Is this even useful or am i wasting a card.

Given im on kind of a tight budget i was just looking for ideas and costs. Also im looking for maybe some ram idea's im now quite sure what kind of ram im running but i know its atleast 3 gig.

Basically i want to increase my FPS. i thought my system was pretty decent.

I wanted to upgrade to vista, but is that even a good idea at this point? Will it increase or decrease my fps.

Not quite sure what my current mobo is.. kinda a newb to this stuff.. but im running an AMD athalon x2 dual core.. 4200+ with one ati radeo 4850 at the momment. 3 gigs of ram.

I want to say ive either got an abit or asus mobo..

Am i just needing to tweak my system? or should i jump for new parts?

Re: Suggestions on Mobo / ram

A Radeon 4850 should be plenty powerful for most games. Also, if you are getting any more than 50fps it is a waste because your eyes can't see that many frames per second.

If you want a higher framerate try lowering some settings. I also recomend turning on Vsync so that your framerate does not go above your monitor's refresh rate.
