This is what i have so far. I have a budget of $1100 just for the rig. I did not know which way to go on the mobo, either a 780i or 750i. I dont plan on using a tri sli setup. But i will eventually go dual. Please let me know
thanks

Re: My first build, please scrutinize

The build looks nice with one exception in my opinion. I would not get a 780i SLI chipset if it were me. There is a lot of talk about dropping this troubled chipset. If you get one that works well, then they are great. However, there are some real questions about the quality of this setup with the 780, so I would err on the side of caution and chose something else. Here are both sides of that story:

Going out of chipset business:

http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/mainboa...in_Danger.html

Staying in Chipset business:

http://xbitlabs.com/news/mainboards/...pany_Says.html

IMHO, this is just to risky to put a new build together using that troubled chipset and with that possibly looming in the near future of discontinuing the manufacture of chipsets, especially since they have had difficulties with the 780.

Take a look at one of these which will likely be my next build for my personal use:

Asus P5Q Deluxe

or

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4P

if you haven't bought the parts yet,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102747
it's 20$ cheaper for the exact same card.
