PC wont start

I have recently bought a new motherboard MSI 945GCM7 + Intel dual core chip and power supply. I put everything together and switched on and got to the BIOS screens and everrything was ok, however the cd/dvd rewriter (its an IDE type) would'nt work and was working previously, Ichecked the data cable and then removed the power cable without shutting down the pc, as I plugged it back in I seem to have shorted something and everything stopped working. I changed the fuse for the pc pwer cable and I bought a new power supply unit but it still wont work..... any ideas? Thanks in anticipation

Re: PC wont start

You should post all hardware specs, including power supply wattage and
brand. Do you get any response from the board at all? Have you cleared
cmos?
You may have learned a lesson the hard way, never unplug anything
that is not hot swapable, I even steer away from that.

Re: PC wont start

I think you are right about learning a lesson. I took everything off the board and started all over again making sure everything was secured and it started,
Many thanks for taking the time to post a reply.
