Re: What do you think about this PC Setup?
Looks pretty good, but I'm not sure about the PSU. Thats the last thing you want to be cheap on, especially with all those expensive components you chose. Based on the components you chose, according to my Power Requirement calculator, you barely need over 300W. Of course, you're not going to find something with that low wattage with the right amperage for your video card. I'd recommend this one for your build.
Also, 8GB of RAM is a waste of money. You don't need more than 4GB. Also, depending on what your doing, you probably don't need quad core. This looks like a gaming build, so I'd say go with this. You can overclock it a lot better than the Phenom, and it's a lot cheaper. Most games tend to use only one core, while a few of the newer games can utilize dual-core. Quad core is a waste for gaming, and I hate how AMD targets gamers with their Quad Core processors. Also, one more thing, I consider the 8800GT a huge ripoff. It's the big name for gaming graphics right now, and its price reflects that. The 8600GT's performance isn't very far from that of the 8800GT, and there's one on Newegg for $60. I've actually used that exact card for builds, and all my gamer buddies are very satisfied with it, and love that I saved them so much money. Also, wheres your hard drive??? You really, really need one of those. |
