HELP! Question about memory placement

So I'm using an Asus P5Q Pro motherboard, and its manual is not really clear on where to place the memory.

To those not familiar with the board, there are two channels, channel A and channel B. For each channel, there are two sockets, DIMM_A1, DIMM_A2 for channel A, and DIMM_B1, and DIMM_B2 for channel B.

I'm trying to install the G.Skill 2x2GB PC2-1066 RAM, and the QVL that came with the mobo manual didn't have it. I found this online: http://kj.gnt.hu/details/mb_spec/use...deluxe_qvl.pdf
for a similar board, and it told me that it was type A only.

type A: supports one module inserted into either slot as single-channel memory configuration.

Now my questions:
1) Is single-stick operation possible? (i.e. only 2GB at first until I can get a POST)

2) When I use both sticks, would i do DIMM_A1 and DIMM_A2, or would I do DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1?

Thanks!
