First Custom Having problems.

Ok after a storm blew through my area, and shut everything down with a power outage. Now my computer won't run.

This was custom built, most of it by myself, but not i'm stumped. When I turn on my computer it shows my graphics card boot screen. It asks to press DEL for setup, and TAB for BIOS. If i did nothing it would freeze, if i hit DEL it would freeze and if i hit TAB it goes to the BIOS screen and nothing comes up. It dosen't scroll though the list of things it usualy does, and if freezes. I can't boot from disk or do anything past thease screens.

I thought that my HD had died, because it stopped clicking (nothing new I've always had problems with the SeaGate HD's), so i got a new one like I've been wanting to get. I plugged it in, and set everything up, put the CD in for the new HD and it does the same thing.

Is this this a problem with my memory, and not my HD? I don't think it's my motherboard, or power supply because they all start up, and the lights come on like they should.

A friend build this for me, and unfortunatly he's no longer with us so i can't ask him for help. Could someone please help me. I need to get this fixed it's my only machine other then the public ones at the library.

This is what I know I've Got:
PS: 600w X-Finity
Old HD: Sea Gate 500gig Baracuda Serial ATA
New HD: Western Digital 500gig Caviar Serial ATA
Mobo: Asus P5N32-E nForce 680i
RAM: Intel Core2 Duo E6600 2.4ghz
GC: XFX GeForce 8500

and please forgive me if I gotten something wrong. I'm only begining to understand this stuff, and will fully admit to being a total noob.

Re: First Custom Having problems.

try just one stick of memory / use the memory slot closest to the cpu / then start the computer ........... if things stay the same ..... then try the other stick

then you will need to try another power supply or take yours to a PC shop and have them test it ?
