Final Build -

Sorry for double post.

This is my current build and I need all opinions / facts / concerns, etc.

Motherboard: EVGA 650i Ultra
PSU: Thermaltake PurePower WU100RU
Case: Thermaltake
Video: GeForce 7600 GT OC
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz
HDD: Barracuda 120GB 7200.10 RPM SATA

I also have CD-RW / DVD-RW Drives, Keyboard , Mouse, and Monitor. I realize that for gaming I will need to upgrade my video. PC is for Video, Gaming, Media Editing, etc.

Main concerns:
Do I have enough power?
Am I in danger of frying any of my parts?
Will the stock cooler for the Wolfdale and the two 120 mm fans be sufficient to cool?
How high can I overclock the Wolfdale until it starts becoming risk-full?
Is there better choices for what I choose for the same price?

Thank you so much. If you can give any input that would be great!

Re: Final Build -

the only thermaltake recommended is the toughpower series
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%2b550w
if you are going to upgrade the video later you need to decide roughly to what now and put a psu in for that
or you will have to upgrade the psu again

I agree with dai on this. If thermatake, but Toughpower only.

Am I in danger of frying any of my parts?

Anytime you have a weak or insufficient power suppy, YES, you can put parts in danger in your computer. What you have doesn't seem to be that far off, but the risk is always there.

Will the stock cooler for the Wolfdale and the two 120 mm fans be sufficient to cool?

The stock cooler on the Wolfdale is a nice cooler and with 2 120mm fans (one front pulling in, one back pulling hot air out) should do a nice job.

How high can I overclock the Wolfdale until it starts becoming risk-full?

There is not set amount. Just crank it a little bit at a time and run it to test. If it begins to get hot, then you have reached the highest limit. A lot depends also upon that power supply we talked about needing a quality unit.

Is there better choices for what I choose for the same price?

If this were mine, I would consider a higher end video card if you are into gaming. Just a thought and probably a little more money.

Thank you so much. If you can give any input that would be great!

Re: Final Build -

Thank you so much for all the info dai and tumbleweed!

Is there a quality psu for about the same price? If not, I will spend a little more to ensure quality.

Thanks again TSF

Re: Final Build -

The powersupply dai recommended is an excellent choice, and has a -$20 combo deal with a case I will link in a bit. I actually chose this case and this power supply with the combo deal for my personal gaming build (If only I could afford it right now, I'm getting it in another month-ish). The case + psu arent the reason I cant afford it, theyre actually a great deal. Heres the case URL:
