PC Oppinions and Info.

Hello,

Thanks for stopping by to help me.

I am building a PC and have bought and recieved a majority of my components. This is my future build specs.

EVGA 650i Ultra Motherboard.
GeForce 7600 GT OverClocked.
Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz.
Plextor CD-RW Drive.
Sata Barracuda 7200 120GB.
2 80MM Fans.
1 120MM Fan.
3 GB DDR2 RAM.
DVD-RW Drive.

I'm still deciding on a case. I also need to know what I need from my PSU, as far as to supply all my parts with proper amount of electricity.

Any suggestions / opinions are welcome.

Thanks once again TSF.

Re: PC Oppinions and Info.

First off:
What is your budget?
What are you planning to use your computer for?

What you have now isnt the latest ... such as the videocard could be upgraded better ...
But if you are going to use what you have now than I say go with a
500-550w PSU (Thermaltake Toughpower or Corsair)

Case...try Thermaltake, Antec 900, Coolermaster

If this is comptuer is for gaming...it would be for minimal gaming because the specs you are showing are for minimal games and not for games like Crysis...but please specify.

Re: PC Oppinions and Info.

I'm reusing my 7600 from my other PC. I will eventually upgrade it to a card from the 9000 series. For now, I am going to be playing COD4 , C&C3. Future games include Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, and World of Warcraft. (I'm a blizzard fan). Blizzard makes sure thier games can run on just about any pc setup. I don't plan on playing Crysis.

I'm planning on using it for digital editing with Photoshop and Adobe After Effects, and gaming. I'm not so worried about it performing to the highest specs possible, just a nice upgrade from my pentium 3. I can upgrade video and processor later on when I have an income coming in, since I am only 15.

Case I selected.

I will be going with the ThermalTake PSU. The reviews on it look superb, and $20 rebate :)

Thanks again!

Re: PC Oppinions and Info.

Make sure your 7600gt is a PCIx16...with a processor as old as a P3, it's probably AGP, which isn't compatible with your new build. Double check...

Re: PC Oppinions and Info.

Sorry, I should have clarified. The 7600 GT is PCIx16 and coming from my Athlon 64 3400+ PC.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the only Thermaltake Power Supply worth anything is the "Toughpower" series. That one is top line, the other ones they make are not worth packing home IMHO.
