[SOLVED] Build needs help!
I am trying to build a Gaming Computer that can handle all the new stuff out there right now (Age of Conan, CoD4, Crysis) but theres a few things I'm not sure about like what graphics card to use, Motherboard, and powersupply I would need to run it all.
Case: NZXT Apollo Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower.......... $79.99 Harddrive: Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10000 RPM SATA 1.5Gb/s..$169.99 Burner: SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA..................$26.99 Ram: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800..........$84.99 CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad.....$214.99 MotherBoard: ? PowerSupply: ? GraphicsCard: ? Subtotal: $576.95 Goal: $1,000 or less if possible! If any of the parts I've chosen can be subsituted for something else, please tell! Re: Build needs help!
Well first thig I will say is skip the raptor hard drive. Total waste of money. 170$ for only 150 gigs of storage, thats more then a dollar a gig. Plus you will never notice the speed difference between a 10000 and a 7200 rpm drive. Just a get a regular sata drive.
now as for the rest of your parts. motherboard 179 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...078&CatId=3495 vga 190 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...922&CatId=3670 power supply 110 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005 Thats 479$ Now if you skip that western digital raptor wich you should , you will more money for a better case which a rig like this will need. I recommend the thermaltake armor or antec 900 antec 900 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=antec%2b900 thermaltake armor ( theres a few different chocices ) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...rmaltake+armor

Re: Build needs help!
You will also need a proper cooler for that quad core and not the stock intel one. The zalman 9700's are very good.
