8800 Series: Dual or single?

I'm stuck at the moment between running dual Nvidia 8800GTs or a single 8800GTS. Building this computer for gaming (of course.) Which would be best?

Re: 8800 Series: Dual or single?

I agree. An 8800GT can run everything including Crysis on highest settings in DX9. Mind you if you have DX9 the highest setting for Crysis is disabled, the "high setting" is actually the highest. In DX10 you can change the setting to very high...but I really don't think the eye candy is worth spending the money on a second video card.

On most benchmarks I've seen, the 8800GT actually outperforms the 8800GTS 640

Whichever you decide to go with I would definitely get an SLI board just in case you decide to upgrade somewhere down the line.

Re: 8800 Series: Dual or single?

I also agree, the dual 8800 scenario is not worth the cost you will endure. Get an sli board and hold for now with the one 8800.
