EEK! My first custom built won't power up

After having 3 HDs die in the span of a month and finding out that my computer won't support CS3, I decided to take the plunge and build my own sweet new machine. Below are the parts:

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400
Rosewill R103A Black SGCC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 350W Power Supply
BIOSTAR V7602GS21 GeForce 7600GS 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card
2GB of DDR2 RAM
WD Cavair SATA HD 500GB
LG DVD-Burner
Floppy drive

I meticuliously took my time reading the manuals and going over online tutorials to make sure I had everything installed and plugged in correctly. My friend who builds his own machines double-checked my work and said that I was free to take her home to install the floppy and HD. So I completed those tasks, hooked up the mouse, monitor, etc and plugged her in. She won't even power on.

I've tried switching the cords, hitting the switch on the back of the power supply, triple checked that everything was hooked up and still nothing works. The LED lights I noticed on the old ASUS motherboard would be on as long as the power was connected, but there is nothing in this new machine that lights up or even hums.

Now what? Needless to say, I'm terribly disappointed and frustrated.

Thanks.

Re: My first custom built won't power up

it won't with this as it is underpowered and low quality
Rosewill R103A Black SGCC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 350W Power Supply
pcie requires a min output on the 12v+ line of 26amps from a quality psu

Re: My first custom built won't power up

I'm guessing a 400watt (cannot find amp listed on it) power supply would not work either?

Re: My first custom built won't power up

Ah, my friend individually tested the parts and found out that the motherboard is dead. I'm sending it back to newegg now.
