Question Compatibility

I am ordering a custom built computer from Cyberpower PC. I have noted bad reviews from many customers, but in talking to a friend (He runs a business that builds computers, but is too busy to fit mine in at the moment) who has ordered computers from them before, several people order incompatible parts and then try and blame the company. So I wanted to list the specs of the system I'm ordering so you guys could let me know if they're all compatible with one another. I've done quite a bit of research but a few things such as:

Will the motherboard fit inside the case?
Is the motherboard compatible with the video card?
Will it work with my current Dell monitor (Running 1280 x 1024 currently)

And a few other things... So I wanted to be sure before I spent the money. I'm basically buying this new computer specifically for Age of Conan, plus I'm off to Tulane soon and I'm going to leave the older PC here for my younger brother to use for gaming (or homework.)

Here are the specs of what I am ordering.

Re: Compatibility

Hi TripleTriad, your motherboard, case, cpu, video card and memory are all good matches. The Dell monitor should also be a good fit. If you decide sometime in the future to run two video cards in SLI, you will barely have room for your wireless PCI card and your PCI-E 16x will default to only 8x per card with this motherboard. Having only 2 pci slots is not great, but if you don't need them it won't matter. An often overlooked part of the build is the power supply and I would definitely look into a better brand name unit. This one is very good for the money, PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W, and has very good power on the 12v rail. Mike

Re: Compatibility

What do you think about the Apevia Warlock 750w supply? Also, referring to PCI slots, how could you tell by the motherboard description that it only comes with 2 PCI slots? (that way I'll know how to check from now on). If I added another GTS with the 16x PCI-Express why would it drop to 8x per card? As mentioned before, I'm somewhat new to detailed component information and just want to make sure I get everything right the first time. Thanks in advance.

Re: Compatibility

Google is your friend. So is Newegg. Mike
Your board

Look at specifications

Power supply info Read this to better understand why a good quality, efficient power supply is required on todays computers. If you buy that E8400 Wolfdale, you will want to overclock it. It's just too easy and it's free extra performance. Mike

Re: Compatibility

Decided to go with this board instead:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131232

When I go SLI, this should handle it much better given the extra room. Also decided on the Warlock 750w PSU, got great reviews on Newegg and also switched to an Apevia Mid-Tower 420w Case. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Re: Compatibility

Bro, you need to reread those reviews on Newegg. It doesn't look too good to me. I personally would not buy the Apevia, if other people are having these problems, you might too. A flaky power supply could take out alot of you new parts if and when it dies and is not worth the risk. Go with one of the units in the link I provided, this list was put together by teammembers on our forum that own computer companies or build PC's for a living. Mike

Re: Compatibility

I read all the reviews, and there seemed to be a couple bad ones, but 2 of the worst reviews sounded extremely similar, both suggesting a CoolerMaster CPU and I believe it was a cheap way of advertisement. Either way, however, I looked around a bit more and am going with a Corsair 750w power supply. 81% of it's reviews on NewEgg were 5-star so I feel pretty good about it. I think some of those Apevia Warlock reviews were bogus though.
