Gaming PC for Future? First time builder

Hi everyone...

I am wanting to build a PC gaming machine...

I will be building it on this coming September...

As of now I'm not sure if I should plan out my future PC now...

-------------------

Budget: How much money are you willing to spend on the new build?

Ans: preferably 1500 USD... 1800 USD max... (without monitor)

Brands: Are there any brands of components you want or don't want?

Ans: Intel CPU (one that suitable for gaming don't know if Duo or Quad), nVidia if possible (I have no idea whether what GPU I should selected)

Multitasking: Will you be multitasking with this computer and if so, how much?

Ans: I will not be multi tasking that much... I'm im playing games then I won't be chatting or doing other things...

Gaming: Will you be gaming and if so, how much and how new are the games?

Ans: As of now... I want to play Crysis, Grid, and Assassin Creed... at 19xx*10xx ? (1080p)
and all the nice game in the future? (hopefully)

Calculations: Will you be doing any intense calculations or media encoding?

Ans: Other than gaming, probably nothing heavier than that

Overclocking: Do you plan on overclocking and if so, how much?

Ans: I would like to overclock but I have no solid knowledge about that -_-", if it's easy then I probably am going to...

Storage: How much storage will you need and what will you be storing?

Ans: 500GB, 720GB

Legacy Support: Will you need support for older hardware like parallel, serial, or PS/2 devices?

Ans: I dont think so

Operating System: Do you want Windows XP or Vista, or Linux compatibility?

Ans: Vista 64bit Ultimate

Case: Do you want help selecting a case and if so, how big do you want it?

Ans: Should it be big? Size doesn't really matter as long as it fits all the components

Accessories: Do you want a keyboard, mouse, or other items included?

Ans: I have an apple bluetooth keyboard, wireless mouse already, hopefully, so... the computer should have bluetooth (which I don't know if it comes with mainboard or not)

Recycled Components: Will you be reusing any components you already have?

Ans: Nope... I just flew from Thailand with nothing with me

Monitor: If you want a monitor, what size do you want and should it be widescreen?

Ans: I will be using HDTV as my monitor... it is 40" Samsung A650 series... i believe it is 1080P

Stores: Do you have any online stores that you prefer to purchase from?

Ans: Newegg? Pricewatch? or anywhere that is trustable and reasonable price...

Location: What country do you live in?
Ans: California.... USA

Here's what I have in mind...

CPU: Core 2 Duo 3.16 Ghz
GPU: 9800gx2 (I heard 9900 is coming out with 10.1 support?)
Ram: 4 gb
OS: Vista Ultimate 64bit
Soundcard: Creative X-Fi (or one that allows me to plug my guitar to it)

Mainboard: I have no idea on how to choose one....

Thank you!
