USB connector problem
Hi guys,
Im trying to install the MB from a pc into a new case but the USB and Audio connectors dont fit. Firstly the USB has 5 pairs of pins on the board but the connector only has 4 pairs of cable and 1 pinhole is blanked off so the connector wont fit. The cable for the 2x front usbs has (from left to right) red>white>green>black>empty. The MB pin configuration is attached. I would appreciate any help on resolving this and if it IS possible i will post the similar problem with Audio. Thanx in advance Paul |

Re: USB connector problem
You are not going to be able to use the front usb ports as they are wired, there are several ways the cases front usb wires are sold. Your motherboard needs the wires for each port separated into two flat 4 wire connectors so each one can be turned around to match the VCC (red wire) to the #1 and #10 positive pins. A single connector usually has both positive wires at the same end and if attached will cause a short and burn a hole in your motherboard(it has happened to me). Mike
