two diff brands of memory at the same time?
ok guys I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L mobo and Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048. I havent started building yet. I seen another pair of 1GB sticks that I also want. OCZ 2GB PC2-6400 EL Platinum XTC Edition. Would I be able to use both sets of ram if or can I not mix and match like that?

Re: two diff brands of memory at the same time?
yea I think it goes half the speed, or the speed that it normally is. So if it were 800mhz , it would only go at 800mhz rather then 1600mhz. Course I'm not really sure , the ram might work fine w/o disabling the dual channel mode. Just to confirm you have a 64bit os right? Also, why not buy the same sticks you have?
