I purchased a Asus P5GC-MX/I333 MOBO. I am running a SATA-300 Hard disk is there a way to have the light function with this type of setup??
Thanks in advance. Jay

Re: question about HDD light on Tower
Look at the motherboard diagram of the pinout for the front panel and be sure the + wire is in the right place . . if it is not lighting up now, just reverse it and see if it does

Re: question about HDD light on Tower
It doesn't matter what kind of disk drive you have, the disk light will still work. As Rich said, if it's not working now, turn the connector around 180 degrees.

Re: question about HDD light on Tower
You can move the wires around to match the pins . . use a tiny screwdriver to lift the plastic bit that holds the wire in and move it to match the pins

Re: question about HDD light on Tower
Some boards have a 3 pin and a 2-pin header. If there is a 2-pin message header next to the 2-pin HDD header, the message header will become the power LED when connected.

Re: question about HDD light on Tower
can the wires be changed like that i tried to get the cover off and no go, i'll try harder later.. it is a 3pin power connecter only two wires one on each side and nothing in the middle. the book says it is a 2 pin so i'll get back with a update after while..
Thanks, Jay
