Re: unsure about psu :(

umm kinda hard to read your post i think i got it though. no, you could not run 2x 8800GTs off a 550 watt psu. i think something 700watt+ and quality is what you need. i think everything is compatable. could you try reposting with only the names of the componants? would make it much easier :) thanks

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703009 would hold you for a while.

Re: unsure about psu :(

1 got own 3d is right. I am unble to discern if your PSU is generic or branded. Most generics are not worth the money and rarely give the output they say they do. Trust me, ive been there.

500 watt or greater will run todays graphics cards and everything else we feel the need to have ing our cases. SLI is a different beast... 700 watt + is the way to go.

Do NOT go generic. With PSUs you get what you pay for.

Hope this helps

Re: unsure about psu :(

ok ty, off topic do you think the crysis graphics will become the norm anytime soon? the answer will help me decide if im going to spend the money on 700 watt supply so i can run sli with my 8800s or stick with one.

Yes, probably. Judging from the dramas people are having with games like Company of Heroes, graphic cards will be challenged and PSUs pushed with even more graphically intensive games.

Think of it as an investment... PSUs run you system. Their not as sexy as graphics cards or quad processors, you really cant tweak them or OC them but if they are crappy, so is your very expensive rig,
