Just built PC, need help!

First of all, have to say thanks for helping me pick parts for my system a month or two ago. Just received the parts a couple of days ago, and built it yesterday but I didn't find it too hard. Anyway, I have two problems I can't figure out.

1. No sound out of my machine? Don't have any speakers yet so I'm just using headphones, but no sound is coming out when I use them? Using ther on-board sound and I already installed the drivers that came with the Motherboard (GA P35-DS3L), I must be doing something wrong?

2. Though I have installed the drivers (Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC ) for the PCI-E, the Device manager recognizes theres a PCI-E installed but says theres no drivers there? Tried installing from Disc and downloading from internet, neither works.

Sorry if I'm doing something stupid, this is my first PC build ^^ Any help appreciated!

If you forgot to install the chipset drivers, try doing that as well. Have you checked the manufacturer's website for driver updates?
