Grin Help upgrading computer

Hey everyone
I have a Pentium 4 2.80 ghz
with 512 mb of ram (pc3200)
with a crappy radeon 9200 (agp)
and ive been looking to just upgrade my video card and ram
ive been looking at getting around 2gb of ram
and a GeForce 7300GT
(PS: My motherboard is an old p4s800)
I live in australia (sydney)
and the max im looking to spend is around... $300 aus dollars
does anyone think otherwise?

Hi Loca and welcome to TSF, I can see nothing wrong with upgrading an older system. If you are going to upgrade to 2gb memory get a matched set from Asus's list of compatible memory. The video card you mentioned is low on the list of last years best ranked cards. If your intent is to game another selection would be better, but you need to be aware that some video cards require an extra power source and if the power supply in your case is weak or low powered it might not be up to the task.
