Re: Will my PSU work?

I don't think you would be wise to use a 400 watt in that unit, especially one that has a lower efficiency rating.

My suggestion for what you have would be nearer the 550 range and would suggest an Antec Trio 550. If you plan on moving to a better video card later on, then you need to have even a larger unit (650 as a minimum) to run say an 8800GTS. That is my opinion.

Re: Will my PSU work?

You can most likely just exhange it with no problems and if it has not shipped, they will do that easily....call them. NewEgg is great on customer service and returns. If this were mine, I would just send it back and exchange it for something that is better.

Re: Will my PSU work?

Power supplys will probably be a bit more than that, the Antec Trio 650W is around $100.

Re: Will my PSU work?

Well if my build is risky with a 400watt, why would i jump all the way to 650watt? lol... hehe Thanks though. Should i get the FSP SAGA+ 450watt?

Re: Will my PSU work?

No.

If you are getting the 8800 card, you will mess something up. Try it if you want, but dont come crying to TSF when you fry your whole system.

Re: Will my PSU work?

If you don't plan on upgrading this rig and plan on staying with the 7900GS, you might get by with a real good 500 watt power supply, so let me look around a bit. I would prefer you go for the 550, because that gives you some room for expansion. Will try to get back later with some things to consider.

Re: Will my PSU work?

Still looking, but here is a real deal on a 500 if you wish to go that way:

Antec Earthwatts 500 Watt ATX12V v2.0 Power Supply
NewEgg

Use Promo Code: EMCABCCBF - $64.99 after instant rebate and promo. $34.99 after $30 mail-in rebate.

FYI, this is a great power supply for a 500 watt. Much better than what you were looking at.
