Boot issue. Please help.

Hi.

I'm experiencing a strange problem when I built my PC. Everything went well until trying to boot from CD Rom. When I start the PC it detects the CD rom and the hard drive. I've inserted the windows XP disc, set the boot sequence to 1. CD ROM, 2. HDD .
I can see that the pc tries to boot from the cd rom, cd rom flashes twice but then stops, it does not spin up and after a few seconds I get DISK BOOT FAILURE message. When I hit enter it again tries to boot from the CD again with the same results. My first tought was it's a faulty cd-drive but exactly the same problem with the second cd drive I borrowed and they both work on my other pc. Also the windows disk is almost new and it's not scratched . What could be the problem?

Motherboard: Abit..... few years old
Power: 450W
HDD: Seagate 80 Gb few years old
Ram 1024 MB
Video: Goforce 6800gs

what does the bios list the voltage as on the 12v+ line
how do you have it cabled and jumpered
does the bios list it correctly
