First Time Builder. I suck. need help

I dont know much about building computers but ive done some research so i know basics. im trying to build a gamer computer. It doesnt have to be the best i just want to play FPS games like BF2, BF2142, Crysis and not have to worry about system requirements for a while. Please help me

1. Is Everything compatible?

2. Should i Swap out any parts?

3. Is it overkill?

i would like to bring the price down a little but i dont know what i could change without suffering too much performance.

Re: First Time Builder. I suck. need help

If the price is your main concern then 120$ on a case and, collectively 100$ on keyboard/mouse, might not be the best move, you'd be spending 220$ where you could be spending 100$ or so.

Also the graphics card doesn't have to be the 8800GTS to run Crysis well as it seems this is going to be a big chunk of your spending.

Take a look at this.

This card would be able to run Crysis well as well as all the other games and is $100 cheaper than the GTS

Welcome to TechSupport too.

edit: I also have a feeling that you'd get away with having a cheaper Motherboard, unless you plan on upgrading in the future, but i'm not great when it comes to motherboards

Re: First Time Builder. I suck. need help

I like everything on that list except two things.

1. 8800GTS, I would change that to a superclocked EVGA 8800GT.

2. This is not actually a problem but I don't like XFX. I haven't had a good experience using their products yet so I would get the EVGA 780i. But thats just me.

Re: First Time Builder. I suck. need help

Yeah i couldnt decide on a Video card. If the 8800 GT will run crysis then ill just go with that. its out of stock at newegg :(

I really like the Antec nine hundred case because i heard its really good for cooling. If you guys know of any cheaper cases that are good then let me know.

Thanks for the Help! Anyone else have any ideas for me?

Re: First Time Builder. I suck. need help

Earlier I was in a hurry so I didn't get to read the whole post. I just double checked it and agree that you could save some money on the case and maybe save some on keyboard. I wouldn't change the mouse because that is an amazing high quality mouse that is great for gaming. I have that mouse and Crysis and love it. Anyway I would try finding a nice case for 50-60 dollars. They have a lot of nice ones. Also that is the old G11, basically a G15 without the LCD, and the price is a bit high. I don't know if its really worth that much. I would suggest getting the Saitek 1 not Saitek 2. I have both of those and the first one is much better than the second one. I also have the old G15 and new G15 and hate the old G15.
