Hi.

are you going intel or AMD? You've chosen a AM2 CPU but a Skt 775 Motherboard.

Re: Need help, checking if the following are compatible...

I was also considering changing the case, as I found one that comes with a 750W PSU, this would turn out to be over $100 cheaper than buying the seperate 750W with the case I have chosen right now, would this be worth it or is it likely that the PSU is extremely loud?

It can be found here.

Re: Need help, checking if the following are compatible...

I wouldn't get that case with the frebee psu.

The parts you posted are ok but there are a few problems. You need a intel cpu to go with that motherboard, needs to be a socket 775. Also I would choose a antec trio or thermaltake toughpower powersupply 700 watts or more. Also you forgot a cpu heatsink.

edit
yes get the cpu hawman posted

Yes thats a good psu, as for the heatsink , I'm not good with heat sinks , I usually just get whatever, but hawman should know some good ones.

Re: Need help, checking if the following are compatible...

Actually I was looking through it again and I don't think you need a sound card unless you need it for audio work or special audio mixing needs as the motherboard has onboard surround sound.

Like i said if you don't do any audio mixing or any kind of high end audio recording or anything then you dont really need it, the onboard will work just fine .
