Hello everyone..
I'm having my computer upgraded through a tech-savy associate, and I need verification that these parts will play nicely with one another in my full-tower case.. Basically, is everything I list here compatible... ![]() You can find them below.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227060 (Memory) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813186070 (Motherboard) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116004 (Processor) |

Re: Upgrading..and I need your quick assistance..
Yes those will fit together well. Just was wondering though, Vista might run slow on those specs. The stuff is all kind of old.
EDIT: Oh yea I forgot, the hard drive question. When you boot your computer you can go into the Bios and check it. For every bios it is different. Also if your planning on using the hard drive on a new motherboard you will need to reactivate Windows. I have a question of my own. This the computer your upgrading a custom build or was it built by a company. If it was built by a company you may have some trouble getting the hard drive to work on the new motherboard well. Re: Upgrading..and I need your quick assistance..
Hi Sukishane!!
I just review all the specifications of your system. Basically you can do this on your own, by comparing the type of devices and types that supported by your motherboard. As far as I can see, your Pentium 4 processor is using LGA 775 socket, which is compatible with the motherboard. And about your RAM, it is DDR2 type with 667MHz frequency clock, which is exact type supported by your motherboard. So, there is nothing to worry about Sukishane ![]() And you know what, your motherboard has capability to support up to 3-parallel drive (using IDE cable) and 4-Sata drive (using Sata cable which is red in color). Basically, you don't have to worry about the hard drive because your motherboard is far more capable than you might think ![]() Hope this description helps, Sukishane

Reactivating Windows is no problem, I plan to do a fresh install anyway.. As for the other question, this was a custom build from a local PC Shop. My computer as it stands now has ANCIENT parts, and, in a nutshell, I eventually learned that I got ripped off. Yes, the parts work great, but his prices were ridiculous for the product. (I do, however, know better now.. :-D Thank God..) Basically, I'm upgrading in an attempt to salvage the decent case and power supply.. I DONT want to buy a whole new PC, because thats too expensive.. However, it is possible that I may also want to upgrade my Hard Drive and CD ROM drive in the future as well, so maybe getting a whole new PC --isn't-- a ridiculous idea?? Cut your losses and run?? I wouldn't mind some thoughts on this..

Re: Upgrading..and I need your quick assistance..
It is actually much cheaper to build a new computer than you might think. I helped a friend build a 400 dollar (including tax and shipping) gaming computer which can run Crysis on medium with great FPS. This computer I build came with everything except monitor mouse and keyboard. If you don't know what Crysis is it is the hardest game to run out there. If you can run on low with decent FPS you have an amazing computer, lol.
