Final check and additional toughts

Hi

Time for me to buy a new machine and so far everything seems to be good I just want some extra toughts from you guys:

ASUS P5B Premium Vista 965P CF PCI-E
Core 2 Quad6600 2.40Ghz
1000 Watt Quatro Antec
Corsair 800Mhz DDR2 4096mb TwinX
2x Sapphire ATI 3870 512mb DDR3

Im sorry for all the NVidia extremist out there, the latest benchmarks of the 3000 series are awesome. and the card is cheaper.

Re: Final check and additional toughts

Well your psu is freaking huge to start with. Those 3000's series don't use a lot of power and I think 700 to 800 would be plenty. Also if your going to be building a new machine, how bout ddr3 board?

Re: Final check and additional toughts

yeah that was changed to the asus 965p CF PCI-E premium vista. i checked the wrong sheet when I transcribed. As for stock availability in the stores here the gap for PSU is from 500 to 1000. they dont carry others in stock we have to order them. And its only costing me 200$. where would you advise to go if I were to pick a 800watt? Ill check the price difference.

thanks

Re: Final check and additional toughts

as I suspected my 1000watt is from 0 to 30$ more than the average 800watts..

unless I pick this one http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...424&CatId=2533

but the ''little bit noisy'' in the reviews bugs me a lot..

Can a DDR3 board such as this one http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...?EdpNo=3502922 still run with DDR2 ram?

Thanks
