New PC or Upgrade?

OK, so i'm considering getting a new pc/upgrading. now if i upgrade i'm going to have to buy a new case, not matter what pretty much. (i currently have an advent MC3040, bought from PC world, i know, i know, bad. But hey the parents bought me it.)
So with buying a new case in mind, what does everyone think, should i just upgrade or build a new PC? (this is also on the assumption that the motherboard would fit in a regular case)

My specs currently are:
P4 2.9
512MB RAM
160GB Hard Drive
5200FX 128MB Nvidia
SIS-FX616 motherboard (or something along those lines)
My motherboard only has 2ram slots and it can take up to 2GB RAM

Re: New PC or Upgrade?

Hence a new case (that would be for anew grapics card, more than anything else) but i know i can put extra RAM in it, and a extra HDD, not sure about the prossesor though.
so your basically saying start from scratch.

Re: New PC or Upgrade?

Save your money until you have enough cash to go new. Even if this board were upgradeable, the technology is old enough with your specs that it would be a waste of money to put good cash in those components.
