How do your charge your service contracts?
Currently, I charge in blocks of time.
IE: Customer buys 2.5 hours of my time a month (ex travel costs) at a discounted price $75 instead of $85 + TAX. Extra hours are charged at $80 + TAX. This includes remote support (Remote access). I don't charge for single computers, servers etc, is this a good way of doing it or not? Thanks

Contracts vs. Hourly Rates
I generally use the following rates:
In Store: Two Hour Block - $45 Per Hour Afterwards - $25 On Site: Home Rate is the same as in store, businesses over 10 employees go for $45 / hour flat I evaluate each business for a contract, and base the monthly fee on what they currently are using, as well as what services they expect. Some clients have only network issues in their contract, some have everything, including replacement of hardware every few years, in their contract. |
